About Us
The Halifax Regional Food Hub (HRFH) is a nonprofit co-operative building a stronger local food system by connecting Nova Scotia’s farmers, fishers, and food producers to wholesale buyers in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
We operate an efficient “hub-and-spoke” distribution model that brings together aggregation, storage, online ordering, payment processing, and last-mile delivery. Local food can move from producers to buyers faster, fresher, and with less waste.
Our work strengthens farms and food businesses, supports local economic resilience, and ensures that more of every food dollar stays in our communities. By removing barriers, building economies of scale, and fostering strong relationships, we help make local food more accessible, dependable, and sustainable.
